Shell Script

Privacy notice

Shell Script is run by Orglobal Tech Network, Nigeria.

Shell Script is a coding game for children. We collect as little as we can, we never sell data, we never show ads, and we use no third-party trackers. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), and design for COPPA (US) and GDPR-K (UK/EU).

What we collect

  • Students: a first name or nickname, a picture password (stored only as a secure hash), the code they write, their levels, stars and rewards. Home accounts also keep a year of birth. We never ask a child for an email address.
  • Teachers and parents: name and email address, used to sign in with a one-time code and, for parents, to send the weekly progress email.
  • Guests: nothing on our servers. Progress stays in the browser until an account is made.

Consent

A teacher creating a class confirms the school has consent from parents or guardians. A parent creating a home account gives consent directly, and we email them a record of it.

Who can see what

Teachers see progress for students in their own classes. Parents see their own children. There is no chat and no public profile, and children are never ranked against strangers.

Where it's stored

Data is held on our own servers on Amazon Web Services. Emails are sent with Amazon SES. No other company receives your data.

Deleting data

Parents can delete a home account from their dashboard at any time. Teachers can remove students from a class. Anyone can ask us to delete or export their data by emailing hello@orglobaltechnetwork.com.
